Seeker's Trail Family Outdoor Day 3 @ Sembawang Park

Seek SG returns after a week-long break from Chinese New Year festivities and is back at Sembawang Park! Families cheered on as they race each other across the lawn. The children at our Seeker's Trail Live Storytelling session could not stop outrunning each other from one station to the other. If there's one thing we could say to describe them, it would be that their energy is boundless!

A sneak peek into the games and activities we offer!

We have also launched a new colouring card for our Sembawang kids! You can download it here.

Seeker's Trail Family Outdoor Day 2 @ Pasir Ris Park

Our Valentine's Day this year was spent with our loving and lovely families at Pasir Ris Park. We were all super charged by the energy the East-siders brought us during the family relay race, a game of limbo and our Seeker's Trail, live story-telling session!

And here's another look into our Seeker's Trail story-telling session! We almost couldn't keep up with the kids as they ran from station to station, barely containing their excitement.

Last but not least, we thank our Parent Blogger Diah Mastura or etrangle for gracing our event with her gorgeous family! You can read her blog at etrangle.net

And with that, we wish everyone a happy chinese new year! Because of the new year festivities, the Seek team will return the following week at Sembawang Park, so we'll see the rest of you there!

We thank Firefly Photography for helping us capture the highlights of our event as well as Band of Doodlers for doodling with the kids, our partners such Nparks for the venue sponsorship and our other sponsors! Here's a sneak peek of our story-telling session:

We still have 3 events coming your way at Pasir Ris Park, Sembawang Park and West Coast Park. Click here to find out more!

We are also proud to say that the event landed a cover-story on Lianhe Zaobao the very next day, thanks to everyone young and old who were there with us!

Seeker's Trail Pilot Test @ PCF Punggol South

Three days to our inaugural Seeker's Trail Family Outdoor Day, we head over to PCF Punggol South Blk 535 to conduct a trial run with their adorable bunch of students. The skies looked gloomy but we were blessed by good weather nonetheless. With about 50 children, some with their parents, we conducted our games and our live story-telling session. We'll let the pictures do the talking!

Not only did we get valuable feedback from the ground from both teachers and the kids themselves, we had a ton of fun. A slight drizzle popped by towards the end of our run and out emerges a rainbow of poncho-clad kids!

Thank you, PCF Punggol South Blk 535! We ended the day with a happy note, singing our "Let's Go Outdoors and Play" jingle.

Signing off,

The Seek Team

313@Somerset Sky Terrace Playground

Tucked quietly in a corner outside 313's food court on level 5 is a hidden gem. Just outside the doors of Food Republic are tall green leafy pillars and a playground amidst a city view. It is easy to walk past it if you do not know of its location but the playground promises an idyllic resting place as well as a surprise in store for your child.

The playground at the front, albeit small and minimal, is filled with educational games that will keep young children ages up to 3 occupied and entertained.

Because its location is pretty well-hidden, 313's Sky Terrace playground provides an quiet and relaxed alternative to the other popular and crowded playgrounds. We love how the location is convenient and strategically positioned right outside a food court where you could relax with your children after a bowl of iced kachang. But what really took the cake for us, was the NEOS Wall at the back of the playground which was unbeknownst to us hitherto to our visit.

313-playground-6.jpg

What is the NEOS Wall, you ask? It is an electronic platform that combines physical activities with electronic games. There are nine different games available coupled with three different skill levels that makes it suitable for ages 2-12. Two players can amp it up by playing with each other and pushing the buttons in time according to the gameplay.

We were glad to have discovered this gem of a playground! So next time when you are shopping in town and you are in need of a respite from the crowd, head up to 313's Sky Terrace playground.

Seek Goes to Grow & Glow's Xmas Party

Christmas came early when we headed down to Grow & Glow at Tampines. We started off with a Christmas card colouring session with our little friends who were so eager to express their creativity and to write messages to their parents.

Came evening, we were greeted us by excited and brightly-dressed children and giddy-headed parents snapping away with their smartphones. Amidst the buzz, families joined us in our photo booth as we gave away our bookmarks and christmas cards.

(Check out our Facebook page for more pictures!)

Despite the jostle in the crowd of parents, we manage to capture key highlights of the party which includes Santa himself making a surprise appearance and the most magical moment during the party (you'll have to watch till the end of the video to find out!)

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Seek Goes to PCF's Graduation

On November the 14th, Seek had the honour of joining over 100 PCF graduates at their graduation event held at Toa Payoh CC. We joined the excited little graduates and their proud parents in congratulating them on embarking on the next chapters of their lives. How else could we sweeten up the day, we thought, and eventually decided on snapping pictures with props provided. Boy, did many families had fun!

props

Congratulatory notes were also provided to parents to write short messages to their child in expressing their pride and hopes for them. Despite having so much fun ourselves, we also spread the message of combating myopia through our bookmarks which were given to all at present. (Wish to receive a copy of the bookmarks too? You can now download it for free on our site: CLICK HERE)

And with that, Seek signs off! Keep your eyes peeled for free Christmas cards which will be launching real soon.

Seek Goes to Survey Kindergartens

"And then Batman loses to Superman, and Spiderman wins Superman"

"And then Batman loses to Superman, and Spiderman wins Superman"

Seek SG is a campaign directed at parents of kindergarten children to take their children outdoors more often so as to combat myopia. It is found that children that develop myopia at the age of 10 is more likely to develop high myopia that greatly increases the risks to blindness.

We started the ball rolling by making a trip down to PCF Punggol South to observe an eye check-up and to seek advice from the principal and teachers on the children's learning abilities and curriculum. In order to formulate a campaign that will be popular with young children, we conducted informal interviews with our little friends who were extremely helpful and forthcoming with their comments. Our highlight of the day was a story from our little buddy about how Batman gets beat up by Superman!

We then moved on to distributing surveys targeted at parents at 10 kindergarten schools in total to understanding more about the parents' behaviour and feelings towards their child's eye health. And it was a successful mission! We thank all parents for helping us out with our surveys and in contributing to our cause.
